there's a yellowy stone bridge with a neat arc, under which the creek passes through. a few high trees standing there on the foreground, being all very RED and stuff. the water has some basic reflection, but a lot of the painting is still white. like the background, and most of the ground.

   so we have a bridge now, with a reflection no less! I fucking LOVE reflections 🤩 the perspective of reflections can be tricky I suppose, so it can be handy to make a simple blender scene with basic shapes to see how that works.

   In this case I just winged it, I generally have an okay feel for that kinda thing :)

   so eh yeah, I know what you're thinking, those foreground trees look awfully red! they do! I'll tone them down a bit later 🤣

   the tree on the near front left is supposed to become a birch tree but I was out of time so it's just some base 'shaded' color for now :)

   I gotta say, usually around this stage, things kinda come alive and start looking interesting, and honestly I'm not really feeling it yet in this case. hopefully tomorrow after I fill in the remainder of the unpainted areas with some base colors 🙏

   I'm still a bit in doubt about the next phase after that: whether I should make it all very detailed, or more "wild". the latter is probably better for my mental health, and maybe more interesting to look at; but I will usually automatically go into neatly detailed mode, I'm a bit of a neurotically tidy person 😅
