   I'm going to drop lots of spoilers but without a CW because I have no respect for this movie:

   At the heart of the haunted house's origin story is a witch who turned to demonic forces from the times of u.s. witch hunts in New England.

   So, it does the standard christian shit of literally demonizing pagans and the standard christian thing of portraying the origin of evil as a woman turning to Satanic influences.

   Then, it presents christian sourced exorcism and its god as the solution.
