Atlanta Community Press Collective We have begun receiving memories of Manuel, who also went by Cami: i met manuel during their time in atlanta. they were a friendly and inquisitive person. one of my most mundane but happiest memories with them is when they were over at my house doing laundry, sitting on my porch chain smoking, as they did. i was looking for one of my cats and asked them if they'd seen the cat - they mentioned they'd helpful let the cat out, thinking my indoor cat was an indoor/outdoor. the shock on their face when i told them my cat was an indoor cat was quickly followed by their frenzied search for the cat, only to find it crying at the back door. they hugged the cat and were glad it back, and always made sure to keep the door closed after that.
