@alexmussolini88 @Hoss Yeah, it's genuinely something that happens the same way every time. It's dilution through oversaturation. The product wants more customers to "grow" the hobby (healthy hobbies attract people who like it, not change to find "near likers" or whatever) and the people coming in care little for the details and bring in people who care a little less than them and on and on until it becomes about the flanderized big cartoonish things the hobby once stood for.
You can see it happening with 40K in real time. "Oh the Grim Dark is a bit much isn't it?" And long time fans will concede "Yeah, I guess sometimes I wish I could see different stories" and then, a few years later, "Oh well this all male thing is a little silly isn't it? I mean look how cartoonish the lore is already."
