#Journal of a terribly exhausted Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 15/06/2026).
I didn’t have the worst night, but it was a bit shorter than I had hoped for. But Koa was awake, and his teefs were bothering him, so we had to get up. We did our usual things, and after the scale, Koa’s kibble, and meds, I got to the couch, and got to writing an email to my sweet friend. Koa was doing well for a while, and then his teefs got too snappy, and I had to crate him for a while.
I finished the email to my friend, and I wrote my journal toot. Uploaded it to all the usual spots. I browsed through some old pictures, and decided I would share a few on Pixelfed. I finished season two of “Silent Witness”, and I tried to relax a bit. Had my brekkie, let Koa into the garden. I got my AI photo album, and I sorted all the pictures, so I could add them to the album. I really like how some of those pictures have turned out as printed versions. When it was getting light out, we tried a longer walk again. It was difficult, especially when Koa pulled on the leash at times. But, we made it. Koa got his sniffs in, and in the end, he did a wee and all that.
I relaxed for a while, as the walk had been rather challenging. Koa had his meal, and I had some time on the couch. I played a bit with my phone, and then I fixed some food. When I was done, and I let Koa from the crate, he got a bit mischievous. He tried to pull on the tablecloth, so I pushed him off. He lunged back at me, and he booped my Cola glass…. Which tumbled over… Fortunately, the glass was still in one piece, and the cola didn’t spill on anything important. But, my bad back and I, we had to crouch down to clean up the cola. The glass had been ¾ full, so there was quite a bit spilled. When I was done cleaning, Koa was still being a jumpy, mischievous, little dude. And he lunged at me, got my fingers stuck between the few teefs he still has, and one of his fangs tore a little hole in my ring-finger. Big ouch! I grabbed the not-so-little mischief, and with some pain and effort, I got him in his crate. Then, I needed a band-aid badly, as my finger was bleeding a bit…
I tried to relax after that, as the cleaning, and the fangs had taken some spoons out of my cutlery drawer… And we had already walked the 600 meters before that. I hoped for a little snooze, but I could not get it. After some time, I got everything ready, as we needed to head to Nijmegen in a bit. We took the crate, Koa’s things, and we were on our way. Mum helped me with Koa and the bag, so I could take the crate inside, and set it up.
Mum and I took the dogs on a little walk before the hairdresser came. When all the bits had been chopped off again, mum and I headed to the supermarket for a few things. We got back, and mum helped me to try and get a little snooze in the guest bed. Which turned out into a big fail… There was construction going on, two doors down. That made a lot of noise! And when the construction was quieter for a bit, the dogs would be barking, or something else would make a lot of noise… Every time I felt myself dozing off, something startled me again. I think I dozed off for 15-30 minutes in total. So when I got up, I didn’t feel too rested, which was a bummer.
Mum and I walked the dogs, and then my parents had a bit to eat. When it was time to head to puppy class, I put the crate in Skoosh, so that would be ready for when we got back. Puppy class was challenging, as I could not do the exercises with Koa due to my back, and mum was well… She wasn’t sticking to the assignments, and she kept messing up the commands. Which annoyed me a lot, because I want Koa to learn it properly, and I want to follow the rules best, so I can practice it at home properly as well. But it’s like mum hears and sees the assignment, and then does something that looks like it, but isn’t what it should be. Yeah, that triggered me, and I hated my back even more, as I wanted to do the exercises on my own, and do them as they should.
Mum and I got back home, and mum would put Koa in Skoosh, as I was grabbing my groceries and things inside. Koa got in the car, and the whole way back, he was snoozing like a sweet little dude… We got back, and I unloaded the groceries, and the crate. I took Koa for a walk on the grassy field, where he did both numbers one and two. I prepared everything for bed, took a little snack and had something to drink, and then Koa and I headed for bed. Before I know it, Koa was snoozing. And not too much later, I followed his example.
Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:
