Judging it more closely on the soft black bristles of a brush, it seems to be a small brown caterpillar instead of a twig!

   Wait, did that short brown twig just change shape…? 🤔

   I guess we're moving from pruning time-of-year into brushing time-of-year. This one was really hard to spot, but I found at least three more green ones who were not able to hide as well on the reddish-brown apple bark :D
