Western rattlesnake. It was about 1 foot long, and obviously young.

   Spotted by my other half while gravel biking along West Machine Gun Flats Road at Ft. Ord National Monument yesterday afternoon.

   Not the kind of wildlife I like seeing, especially when they (the snakes) are young.
