Professor Eliot Jacobson post on Twitter says “Breaking News! Code UFB! With about six weeks of seasonal warming ahead, global sea surface temperatures are spiking. Yesterday's temperature of 21.10°C just tied the all-time record high sea surface temperature reached August 21-23, 2023.” The post is accompanied by a chart of global sea surface temperatures across the year for the past 20 years or so. There’s a difference of over 1°C during that period.
