ATI Brand Retired By the end of 2010, the ATI brand - for years a mainstay in the world of discrete graphics - will cease to be used on new graphics products. After chipmaker AMD bought ATI in 2006, it continued to label its graphics products with the ATI brand, which had widespread recognition among gamers and video enthusiasts. But according to AMD, a recent survey conducted across the United States, United Kingdom, and China found that the AMD brand was stronger than ATI against graphics competitors.
