It's must be a satanic temptation to prove your faith by immediately catapulting your recent convert to the highest status possible, to lend them control of the flock.
Repentance is lovely. I simply do not believe a truly repentant heart looks at the altar and thinks "ah, that is the perfect place for ME! I should be up THERE, not sitting in the pews like a fool!"
But for some reason all these attention-hungry freaks get thrust right into positions of responsibility or spokesmanship to immediately exert their influence on the faithful.
If you show the slightest immune responce to a world-famous pornographer (i.e. the equivalent of 500+ stalins in terms of spiritual war criminals) then you're chastised for not believing enough, for not being Christian enough.
But converts should be content to quietly sit in the back pews. They have no right to lead the flock just because they're the most experienced in sin.
