   Oecanthus pellucens, commonly known as the clear-winged tree cricket, is a species of cricket belonging to the family Gryllidae. This insect is characterized by its almost transparent wings, which give it a distinct appearance compared to other crickets.
   
   Oecanthus pellucens is typically found in North America, with a range extending from the eastern United States to parts of Canada and Mexico.
   
   The most notable feature of Oecanthus pellucens is its long, clear wings that are held over the body when at rest. The transparency allows light to filter through, giving them a unique look. Adult individuals typically measure between 1 to 2 cm in body length.
