   Thinking about the video I watched today where the cope was given that White people left the Congo and took their expertise with them and that's why all the roads were shit in Empire of Dust (60 years later).
   
   I just have to wonder: what if collapse happens, none of the living White people were able to get higher education or trade apprenticeships, but we finally end up with our own countries. How long would it take us to reinvent these "lost" skills? Even if we had to start from scratch, I can't even imagine just living in the slowly decaying carcass of a better civilization, not even fixing the basic utilities we use every single day.
   
   Stuff like this is why I have hope for space travel/colonization. They say the technology and techniques of the Apollo program are lost to us (thank you, Hidden Figures negresses, for your detailed record keeping). Even if we have to start again from nothing, we can still get so much further than any of the mutants who hate us.
