It's sickening how the university has caved in to the authoritarian regime's extortion. There is a lot in the "agreement" about the Ag school, of which I was once a proud graduate, but you really should have consulted with the university's experts on 20th-century history. That's more relevant here. You could have fought. Yes, you would lose in the short term. Yes, it would be an ugly fight. But in the long term, the university would have a clean record, a worthy reputation. Because democracy, human rights, and rule of law will return to the US.
