A large, well muscled mule deer buck lying down like a lion in the forest. His face is white indicating maturity and the fur on the top of his head is quite dark. He has big antlers.

   This mule deer buck I ran into this morning probably weighed close to 300 pounds and didn’t seem the slightest bit concerned about me stopping to check him out.

   One time a big buck like this was eating all our garden plantings and I tried to scare him off. He just squared up to face me with his huge rack, and after I’d stopped in my tracks for several seconds he kind of said “thought so” and went back to destroying the garden.
