   The story of James Strang, Mormon King of Beaver Island.

   After Smith died, he lead his followers to take over, forcing Indians and Irish settlers to pay tithes or flee.

   His kingdom of 2,600 ended when he flogged followers to change from dresses to bloomers, they shot him, and were then expelled by Irish settlers who were tired of Mormon tithes and even Mormon piracy of lake boats.
