@justinwolfers.bsky.social: There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI. 1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks. 2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational. Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

   here's a fairly interesting example of spurious reasoning from university of michigan economics professor justin wolfers. he assumes that people who've invested more time in ai like it better b/c they've invested more time in it, which makes their judgements about it more trustworthy. but the same split in opinions could also be explained more simply by the people who've invested time in ai being gullible dorks with shit judgement
