Fun facts: The mud snake is non-venomous and found only in the USA. The reason for it's strange coloring is unknown. It doesn't mimic anything and it doesn't blend with anything. It spends most of its time in water and eats mostly freshwater eels. It's harmless but looks freaky enough that predators generally avoid it.
