   This Day in Science Fiction: Happy birthday, Rudy Vallee, a very disagreeable dead guy. (1901-1986) He was an utterly forgettable villain in the third season of the 1960s Batman.

   And John Langdon-Davies in the 1936 book A Short History of the Future predicts crime will be considered a disease after 1985 and will cease to exist by 2000.

   He wrote a lot of dumb stuff.
