A 20 second black and white video taken on a wildlife camera at night. It shows a corner of a stone covered patio area with a rustic hedgehog feeding station. Two bright eyes appear in the darkness off to the right, which turn out to belong to a slinky polecat. They bound over to the feeding station, stand up on their back legs to inspect the top then up onto the roof of the entrance tunnel before darting inside. The eyes then shine through the viewing window before the polecat reappears and bounds towards the camera, across in front of it and away to the right out of frame.

We had a new garden visitor last night… a polecat! I knew they were about and it’s one of the reasons I bought a wildlife camera. They checked out the hedgehog feeding station but weren’t interested in the kibble. Luckily no hedgehog inside, it’s interesting enough when two hedgies meet in there.
