UPSTATE NY HEALTH INSURANCE I work for New York State Of Health and they have implemented a new policy that requires us to report inquiries about health insurance status related to immigration to the Department of Health, which may then forward that information to immigration authorities. This marks a change from our previous policy of not sharing such information! Our TERMS, RIGHTS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES still says “The state will not report any information on this application to a federal immigration agency.” This is now a lie and you can SUE NEW YORK STATE for this lie. Please be careful when you apply for health insurance, some of my coworkers don’t care and will heartlessly report any and everyone and ICE may come for you! Stay vigilant. -Thank you for listening.
