   So the thing about Cartoon Network is that it used to be really free due to the realities of early cable. iirc when asked about some of the more risque jokes in Johnny Bravo, its creator said that they'd "pretty much let them do anything at first."
   Antonucci, Gendy, Dilworth, Atoms, all of these were people who wanted to do things differently and probably wouldn't have tolerated mainstream networks.
   Of course, once these guys were gone and the network got a new executive...things got very nepotistic very fast.
