No. As tempting as it is, this is my country. This was my father's country, and my grandfather's country, and my great grandfather's country, and my great great grandfather's country.
Believe me, I've considered it. It's not as easy as "just move bro." I'm not brown, I don't get unlimited gibsmedats and air fairs into foreign nations. Telling me to move is like telling a slave to just run bro. There are no means of escape available to me. And as much as I love the idea of a cheap house in rural japan, my presence there would necessarily detract from the environment because I'm not Japanese. That's not my country.
My longing for pretty places in America is downwind of my longing for pretty people with pretty lives. I want people to be better. I want to be better. It's crab-bucket culture all the way down, and the way you're insulting me for simply observing it proves that point.
