A pair of Great spotted woodpeckers in a pear tree. They appear to be a parent and youngster. There were 3 of them, but one noticed me looking & flew away.Behind the pear tree is a stone bird bath.

   Yesterday I thought I saw a woodpecker on our pear tree, but it flew away almost as soon as I noticed it. Today it was back, with family. There were 3 on the tree at one point ; 2 adults and a youngster - but one adult flew away when I went outside with my camera. I was lucky to get photos of the other 2. I will be waiting for them to return....
