H.P. Grice formalized the implicit drivers of human communication:
1. Quantity (be as informative as required, no more)
2. Quality (do not say anything that you believe to be false or that you have insufficient reason to believe to be true)
3. Relation (be relevant)
4. Manner (avoid obscurity, ambiguity, prolixity, and disorganization)
It is not sufficient to satisfy only one of the requirements (#2). If you're gonna be a humorless dick, "yeah but it is TRUE" doesn't help...unless you are trying to jump on a joke to turn the entire thing into an argument about that.
