   Returning briefly from hiatus to announce that the Aslopalypse i was forecasting actually came about.
   
   basically, a group of trans women and enbies im friends with did a great deal of work managed to impersonate a Chinese former power user on the marxist leninist lemmy instance Hexbear.net, making the account u/Xiaohongshu2 saying he'd returned to the site but forgotten his password and then creating posts for like two and a half weeks mentioning occasionally he was going on holiday to Xinjiang soon, and then on the day of his departure going silent. Meanwhile they basically created fake uyghur gemocide evidence, and wrote up a 16 page long short story (it was later edited down to a mere 9 pages spread across two parts) documenting their escape from the xinjiang concentration camps with uyghur prisoners. Im going to do a write up on the whole thing piece by piece for you all soon but in the meantime here's some of the hits and people unironically believing it / accusing them of being a USAID funded psyop meant to propagandise an irrelevant lemmy comm of MLs
