This is a video of the women's northern style buckskin competition. The women are all wearing buckskin regalia. But each has her own beaded pattern. The top of the regalia includes long fringes and the women must dance and keep the fringes moving back and forth throughout the dance. The dance step is slow so it takes a lot of skill and effort to keep in time with their steps and also to keep the fringes moving. These women has a crown as part of their regalia and a feather rising out of the back of the head piece.

In our region the powwows are small compared to the massive event in NM. We don't have enough women to have a separate buckskin competition, much less a Northern and Southern style one. Here's a clip of the women's northern buckskin competition. Look at the movement of the fringe on their regalia.
These women are highly skilled because they all seemed to keep that fringe moving effortlessly. 5/5
