   Not to distract from the American Supremacy bit, but the Spanish-American War, the Vietnam War, the first World War, all of the times they sank a boat and lied about it to get into a war, and the one time--the ONE TIME--someone *does* blow up an American boat unprovoked...they lie about that to *prevent* a war. They *can't* resist an opportunity to lie about a boat.
