So, user @samuelhayimbrody at Bluesky pointed out that this EO directly states that race is a biological reality and implies that not believing that is "insane" (link only available to signed in users: https://bsky.app/profile/samuelhayimbrody.bsky.social/post/3llgraj7kas27)
When I said that ableism is a weapon that can never be wielded on behalf of Black people and is consistently used against us, this is what I was talking about. IQ is just one example, historically and presently we also have things like drapetomania, calling all old Black men "crazy", etc. the list goes on.
So if you are out here calling people crazy, insane, stupid, moron, idiot, etc or god forbid the fucking R slur like ppl love to do, you are doing the work of the segregationists, Nazis, eugenicists, fascists, and billionaires that run the government. You are following in their footsteps and marching to the beat of their drum. Literally acting on their behalf, whether you intended to or not.
So I need for us to ask ourselves if we're really opposed to white supremacy or not. If we're really against ableism or not. If we really believe in racial and disability justice or not.
Because if you really do, what are you willing to give up? Are you willing to interrogate your casual use of language? Are you willing to reconsider your words and actions in light of new information? Are you comfortable grappling with the idea that you have the capacity to harm others? What about if you already have? Are you motivated enough to try to make restitution?
Because if you're acting like a damn collaborator and you're not okay with reconsidering that, what does that tell me about your character? Answer: everything I need to know.
