Looking up at the abandoned stairs. The walls are off white. The middle floor has balconies overlooking the big stairwell. Above is a fresco and plaster decorated ceiling.

   Beautiful abandoned palace in Portugal ??

   This palace was built in the late 19th Century. It was once the home of a professor of medicine and was then acquired by the state in the 1920s.

   Renovation work started in 2021. This location will be turned into apartments. I understand work is well underway, the last photos I saw of the beautiful stairs were clad in scaffolding. Thankfully, the stairs seem safe ?
