Saw cardiologist yesterday to review echocardiogram & blood tests.
My A1C (long term glucose) is back to a normal. So the continuous glucose monitors are REALLY helping me figure out foods to avoid. Lipids are literally perfect. 1st time in ~30 years (glucose & cholesterol intertwined it turns out). Liver & kidneys also perfect - not been the case often.
My blood pressure though high at the time of my visit due to running from hospital where I’d seen my husband still there, is also PERFECT.
My heart is 1/2 way back to normal in size from where it was a few months ago. That’s from taking Entresto, a drug to treat heart failure, the direction I was headed for… And the mitral valve regurgitation has also improved greatly.
He told me that I made his day, that he was ecstatic and that I am a model patient for the continuous glucose monitors. 😊
He is one of the most amazing doctors I’ve ever had. I was so excited when I went back to my husband at the hospital that when I saw a homeless woman with her luggage and cute dog crossing the street, I complimented her on her dog and gave her $50. Yes it was the dog who melted my heart but I now feel I want to find homeless folks to donate to regularly.
It was also a gorgeous day (before today’s forecast rain &
cold.) Here is a pic of me leaving his office yesterday.
