   In 2021, I crossed the Sahara Desert on local buses from Cairo to Siwa Oasis.

   I slept in a mudbrick hotel (photo 1), hiked out into desert, and climbed to the top of a lonely plateau to the Temple of Amun.(Photo 2) I was the only person there. (Photo 3)

   I found the holy of holies (Photo 4), and I stood there is awe, knowing that was the spot where the Oracle of Amun Ra told Alexander the Great that he was the son Zeus and crowned him Pharaoh.

   It was the most Indiana Jones moment of my life!
