   Imagine a process where the world's scientists come together to systematically distill, for the public and gvmts, from thousands of scientific works the state of knowledge on a critical issue.

   It doesn't happen for health. It doesn't happen for technologies or food production or genetics.

   But it happens for climate. It's called the IPCC. It's the world's largest ever effort to summarise science, on any issue.

   And it's now meeting to prepare the next report.

   The US delegation is not there.
