Sex Matters categorically states that it does not stand for Repeal The GRA.
Individuals within an organisation might hold various opinions, but that has no bearing on the stated aims of the org. The Forstater Case was a test case to see if a belief that is critical of another belief is on a par with a belief that individual insects’ lives matter. IMO all this shows is what a shambles the Equality Act truly is, with endless possibilities for test cases, and a wide variety of human opinions deemed worthy or unworthy by a judge.
This should cause alarm as society is funnelled down a narrower and narrower corridor of authorised and unauthorised thought. The premise was to test “the law as it is, not as we’d like it to be” (I paraphrase), and I don’t know why so many women seem unable to see SM as it is, not how they’d like it to be.
I’m concerned about “stepping stone” myth regarding Repeal the GRA. Where did that come from? Certainly not SM.
The stated aims of the org involve upholding the law, not changing the law. I’d also add that those calling dissenting views “Nazi” or “totalitarian”, would seem to have done their homework. I don’t think those are words blurted out accidentally. If consensus can be mounted that a person or organisation’s beliefs, opinions, or stated aims do not meet the 5th Grainger criteria, that person or org could be shut down, even proscribed.
Dirty tricks spring to mind.
The organisation seems tacitly against #RepealTheGRA & removing “gender” from the @EqualityAct
It advocates imposing a qualifier in law on to women
It is unequivocal in its policy document
IMO a lot of effort & money for a downgrading of women
