A small brown snake with its mouth open as if about to strike but it has no fangs and looks more cute than scary.

   This is the official Wikipedia photo for Storeria dekayi and ... I don't know how to say this nicely but I think someone has been editing their own article.

   Of all the snakes to have a "strike you!" pose ... I can't think of any less appropriate.

   These are tiny little snakes that live in NYC parks and they eat snails and worms. This "fierce" pose? A preamble to a mild "gumming" at best... running away is more likely.

   Anyway. Good for you little brown snake.
