No that's not how it works. Not at all. ISO20022 is the protocol everything is moving to. Coins that are not compliant will be left in the dust. Again, if you wanna pay your gardener, buy some produce from a streetside fresh vendor, buy some trinkets at a flea market or whatever maybe just maybe they will accept it.
