Extreme closeup of a sweat bee (my ID app suggests it may be Halictus tripartitus) standing on a pink stonecrop flower with out of focus flowers and green foliage in the background. Only the sweat bee's face is in focus while the rest of the frame is out of focus. Stonecrop has lily-like shape with petals that end in sharp tips and the center is filled with oversized stamens and pistils that are as long as the petals. This species of sweat bee has a black-metallic green head and thorax, black and white striped abdomen, six black segmented legs, two black large compound eyes, three black simple eyes on top of its head, two large dark-amber mandibles, two black and dark-amber antennae, and two transparent wings with dark amber veining.
