One of the stands of Miena cider gum (Eucalyptus gunnii subsp. divaricata) in Tasmania’s highlands. As the timelapse video progresses, the trees become enveloped in thick fog. The aurora intensifies at the thickest point of the fog, which drowns the entire scene in bright pink and green light.

   How do #videos do here? I shoot a lot of #timelapse in Tasmania’s wilderness, especially #astrophotography.

   On this night in the highlands documenting the #aurora, I became swamped by thick fog. The scintillating light through the branches was overwhelming to behold.

   These #trees are some of the rarest on earth – they’re found only in a few dozen hectares. There’s only a few hundred living specimens left – Eucalyptus gunnii subsp. divaricata, better known as the Miena cider gum.
