South Pole Observatory SPT & BICEP • SPT and BICEP Array together form the South Pole Observatory observing the same exceptional low foreground 1500 deg² field. • BICEP Array (including BICEP3) small refractor telescopes provide degree scale B-mode measurements. • SPT provides the arc minute angular resolution for de-lensing the degree scale B-mode measurements. • A new SPT camera "SPT-3G+" being built to start in 2029 could be designed to greatly improve de- lensing sensitivity, leading to σ(r) ~ 0.001 in 2034. Plot showing the SPO σ(r) Forecast. On the y-axis is σ(r) on the x-avis is year from 2019 to 2028. A dark line shows Delensed with SPT-3G. Above that is a line for complex foregrounds, above that is a line for No Delensing. By 2028, the SPT-3G hits the σ(r) = 0.002 line.

New telescopes coming online in the near future, including the Simons Observatory.

SPT and BICEP continue working together at the South Pole to look for fluctuations from the Big Bang.
