Red Tiger Flowering Maple, photography. Known for its arching branches and weeping or drooping blooms that resemble Chinese lanterns, this semi-tropical shrub has long been a favorite in the southern United States. The broad, maple-like leaves can reach up to 8 inches in width. This particular specimen can be found in the conservatory at Longwood Gardens, located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
