I'm convinced most pets see the flickering that humans can't see, but those of us who have sensory issues may also perceive them. The solution is to get a bulb with a higher frequency rate, but that's hard to get.

In addition, LED bulbs tend to be made more cheaply than before, and you generally want to look for bulbs that are made for "Enclosed Fixtures" such as light fixtures that do things like light diffusion, otherwise they may not last nearly as long.
