A brook in the woods divides the photo as leaf covered banks and trees line both sides. Ice has formed on top of the brook and is reflecting back sun that is streaming through the trees from the upper right. The sun is also casting long trees shadows on the ice. Rocks sit in the brook surrounded by ice some of them spotted with lichen and moss. Many of the trees are hemlocks so there is a greenish hue being highlighted by the sunlight.
