LinkedIn screenshot… the end of a reply to one of my posts by a consultancy apparently touting for business, telling me in mindless, mechanistic detail their vapid understanding of data quality, and finishing with “We have done this so many times in literally thousands of projects, so ask us if you are confused. Raw data and / or dirty data is raw and / or dirty to the target result. Thats all it means. And intelligent minds and hands will massage it to make it useful, if you just ask us to.” My reply: “Bless your socks… I have a PhD, 20 years experience in data management, and the professional qualifications to go with it - I am not confused, but by all means keep patronising me: it’s such a great pitch for your services 🥰“
