Two charts, one above the other. The top one tracks mentions of Israeli and Palestinian deaths by the BBC from October 2023 to October 2024. There are spikes but for the most part the mentions for each side track each other quite closely. The bottom area chart shows the mounting deaths across the same time period. Israeli deaths are roughly constant, dwarfed by a huge and still growing bulge of Palestinian deaths. Beneath is a caption that says: “This analysis is an expansion of Holly Jackson’s work analyzing bias in media coverage of Israel and Palestine. Mentions are grouped by week.
