@AsukaNeko @thefinn Massive public pressure, boycott-campaigns, protests, etc are the only way we will get Americans (of any color) into those manufacturing jobs.
That assumes we get them at all - not a repeat of the Foxxconn Scam. Not only did the "huuuge" LED-TV plant never materialize, and the whole thing folded - what little work they did do went like this:
> Foxconn Future Leaders, targeted recent college graduates, preferably foreign students in the US on visas, according to multiple employees. “He pointed out several times that they were cheaper than US college graduates and they’ll work harder,” an employee recalled Cheng saying.
> There was a sense among employees familiar with the program that the need for an employer to sponsor their visa meant the recruits would be willing to relocate and work for less money. “These kids, they’re just looking to stay in the country,” said an employee.
> “You’re an H1B, I’m an EB2, if you don’t work hard enough, if you don’t work overtime, I can get you back to Mainland China anytime.
