I've said many positive things about Fediverse because I really think this is great for the Internet. On average much more positive impact, user-protecting features and more healthy community.
While saying this, I still think there's way too much of these two things in the Fediverse:
- Nitpicking
- Besserwisserism
And because of these two things I need to add definitions for them:
- Nitpicking: The finding or pointing out of faults in a fussy or pedantic way.
- A besserwisser: An unkind name for a person who thinks he knows everything. He had a reputation for being a bit of a know-all.
It shows as black and white opinions, pointing out something irrelevant, whataboutism or ad hominem attacks. I've seen this even prevent some good features being implemented. I've seen being harrassed over not doing something they are not aware of or not typing in alt texts. This is not a good thing. Let's be less of wise-asses.
