Calvin and Hobbes are walking and talking. The first panel shows them balancing on a log over some kind of gap (there's nothing below it). Calvin: Getting is better than having. When you *get* something, it's new and exciting. When you *have* something, you take it for granted and it's boring. Hobbes: But everything you *get* turns into something you *have*. Calvin: That's why you always need to get new things! Hobbes, with arm outstretched, palm (or paw?) open, waving: I feel like I'm in some stockholder's dream.
