Sharp thread from @inthehands on the limits of commercial media and value of Unicorn Riot.
As someone who was close, but not immediately adjacent to the George Floyd protests and unrest (in St. Paul, 19 y/o offspring demonstrating) my observations of the moment are very similar. It was all true: legitimate grievance, outside agitators, opportunists, etc. Reality TV is the best way to describe how media edited the situation to create a narrative.
