A hooded merganser paddling, having just raised its wet head from the water. It's black head frames an orange eye and behind the eye is a white patch on a large hood. Black and white on its body except tan-brown on its lower part. The beak is black,short for a duck-like bird and with the hood giving the bird kind of a cartoon like character.
