   Born #onthisday in 1946, Duane Allman was the legendary Allman Brothers Band guitarist and slide guitar virtuoso. Allman (aka Skydog) was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Macon, Georgia on October 29, 1971. He was only 24 years old [1,2].
