Step-by-step instructions from the factory service manual (page AX-10) for removing the front drive shafts on a 2000 Infiniti i30. The steps read: 4. Separate drive shaft from knuckle by lightly tapping it. If it is hard to remove, use a puller. Cover boots with a shop towel so as to not damage them when removing drive shaft. Refer to "Wheel Hub and Knuckle", "FRONT AXMLE", AX-5. 5. Remove right drive shaft from transaxle.

No really, the manual's step-by-step jumps straight from separating the knuckle to just "Remove right drive shaft from transaxle." (it calls the CV axles "drive shafts"). No mention that the right drive shaft has some more bolts holding it in place!

And I've watched a half-dozen YT videos of people showing how to replace the CV axles on this car. Everyone just shows the left side which doesn't have this step!

(Big thanks to this video of a '97 which is similar enough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKSp2Ey_FTw )
